The FBIS monitored, recorded, transcribed and translated intercepted radio broadcasts from foreign governments, official news services, and clandestine broadcasts from occupied territories. These translations, or transcriptions make up the Daily Reports. The FBIS was created during World War II and is now under the Central Intelligence Agency of the United States.
